July 2018 Field Visit – Cocoparra National Park

My apologies for the great delay in getting July’s field trip post online.

For July’s field trip I decided to head back to Cocoparra National Park, near Griffith. I visited Cocoparra last year, but had forgotten that that visit was also in July, so another apology for the lack of seasonal diversity. Coincidentally both visits were on July 26, which amuses me as it was completely by accident.

I decided to head in to a different part of Cocoparra this time, around the other side of the park and hill from last time, and went to see Jack’s Creek.

December 2017 Field Visit – Barellan

Hello lovely people, and welcome to the very end of 2017.

In keeping with my trend over the last few months, this month’s field visit was once again someplace I could squish into my schedule at the last minute, because I ran out of time to do it sooner. I will work on fixing that approach next year.

I needed to go to Barellan yesterday, so I decided to look for likely spots to stop and poke around whilst there.

August 2016 Field Visit – Galore Hill take two

August has seen the return of the sun (well, on and off), so I decided to take advantage of a mostly-sunny afternoon to make another attempt at visiting Galore Hill.

You may recall that I attempted to visit Galore Hill in March this year, and failed to actually get there – it turns out it’s much easier to find if you drive down the right road.

October 2015 Field Visit – The Rock Nature Reserve

This month’s field visit was to The Rock Nature Reserve. The Rock is one of those regional landmarks that I’ve grown up familiar with, but never actually visited, so I decided to fix that. It’s another location now firmly on the ‘I must revisit’ list – not least because I really want to climb all the way to the top sometime.

August 2015 Field Visit – Wattles at Pomingalarna

August means flowering wattles, so for this month’s field visit I decided to head back to Pomingalarna Park at Wagga Wagga (you may recall that I visited Pomingalarna in March this year).
